Just had someone say hi to me and I didn’t remember them until they told me how we met.

Gonna file this one under “memory problems”

I just asked Google how to treat a sunburn and they told me to ask my parents for permission to take ibuprofen.
I’m 25 years old
I guess they figure if i’m too dumb to know what to do about a sunburn, im too dumb to take ibuprofen without parental supervision

I think it would be really cool of we had a People Of Color network. Nothing but poc in any of the shows. And there could be history shows where people talk about what really happened instead of the white washed version and there could be a show to raise awareness about internalized racism, cultural appropriation etc. there could even be a show with tips on natural hair care and tv shows with poc that don’t act their stereotype and don’t get called white because of it.

Well then, you should come to this event I’m hosting: Michelada Think Tank!

We (Michelada Think Tank) are hosting conversations with people of color (PoC) who are socially-engaged / community artists and community engaged type folks interested in creative ways of making change happen. Our current focus is how PoC folks with this affinity can support each other in a context of low representation in traditional or ‘official’ art contexts.

We invite you to hear about the early stages of our work, a recent intervention at the national Open Engagement Conference at the Queens Museum earlier this summer. The intervention consisted of a tally of the racial demographics of the presenters at the conference. We invite you to learn about our project and brainstorm ways to move forward in creating systems of support for people of color. At this point, we are looking to see who else out there is interested in the cause.

Bring a friend, check out the Graduate Public Practice department’s studio space at 18th Street, and meet someone new!

Do most people on tumblr even know what a walkman is without looking it up? I remember buying a Discman from a mail-order catalog when i was in middle school. I saved up for so long…

There’s a Kids React video. This is probably the average tumblr user
